Christian Women Council Plaque
Auxiliary CoIors
Black & Red
The colors
were selected by Mother Elizabeth Walker of Wester New York. To her,
black represented the darkness of the world, especially the children
of Israel. Red represented the blood that Jesus shed for us.
Together, they should remind us that we are blood washed women.
Our official
uniform is black dress with red rose. The rose represents the beauty
and strength of the blood washed woman. The blood washed woman stands
serene and tall against the darkness of this world (with its test and
trials). The soft petal of the rose, a symbol of the outstretched
arms and hands of blood washed woman, are always reaching out to
others in love.
The stem of
the rose, with each thorn serving as a symbol of God given spiritual
weapons against defeat, represents the strength of the blood washed
woman who is rooted and grounded, by faith in the God of salvation,
and in the love of his Son, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The
red rose, in all of its God given beauty, is our symbol of the blood
washed woman.
